Over the past 18 years, the Act Too Players have worked hard to create the premiere summer theatre
program to meet the creative needs of youths ages 3 to 18 while providing practical hours for easy scheduling for parents.
Each summer, Act Too Players offers a combination of weeklong day camps, mini-sessions, and our full production summer intensives taught by the best in the Nashville theatre industry. Every student gets the opportunity to rehearse with the best directors, musical directors, and technical staff. Our goal is to instruct your child on the art of theatre while providing a fun, safe, environment. Our theatre summer camps are ideal for Franklin, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Nashville, and Murfreesboro but have students as far as Alabama enrolled in our program.
We pride ourselves in our well respected prestigious training program and look forward to giving your star the best theatrical experience in Middle Tennessee.
IF YOU DO NOT SEE A WAIT LIST OR REGISTER BUTTON THAT MEANS THAT BOTH THE CLASS AND THE WAIT LIST IS FULL.
The Summer Intensive will meet for 3 hours twice a week over the course of 5 to 7 weeks.
Our intensives will encompass the entire theatrical experience including auditioning, choreography, music, vocal work, staging, with some prop and set work throughout the intensive. This is our immersive theatre experience for all levels of theatre. It is the goal of the Act Too Players staff to provide a professional environment from rehearsals to working with the industry best in lighting and sound at the Franklin Theatre.
Our Summer Intensives will culminate in a fully staged musical production of each show to be performed at the beautiful, historic Franklin Theatre.
Based on Louisa May Alcott's American classic, this Civil War story of love and family stands the test of time.
Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.
Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears and a lifting of the spirit. Little Women features plenty of great opportunities for female actors and singers ranging in age from teenage to 60 years old.
The powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope – the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

Bring the party online in this brand-new, first-of-its-kind musical experience! You may not be ready to be back in the rehearsal room or on the stage quite yet, but you can still rehearse, perform, and celebrate the magic of musical theatre with The Big One-Oh! Online Edition. This 20-minute version based on the beloved children's novel and hit TYA musical is specifically designed to be rehearsed, produced, and performed remotely on the internet.
Charley Maplewood has never been one for parties – that would require friends, which he doesn’t have. Well, unless you count his monster friends, but they’re only imaginary. But now that he’s turning ten—the big one-oh—he decides to throw a birthday party for himself, complete with a “House of Horrors” theme. Of course, things don’t work out as he plans. Will Charley be able to pull it together before the big one-oh . . . becomes the big OH-NO!?

Our weeklong summer day camps meet each day from 9:00am until 3:00pm (except Friday). In camp each day, your child can expect to learn the fundamentals of theatre in a safe and fun environment It is our hope that each week a student learns more than a show or some dance moves but learns a little bit about themselves and how to successfully work with others. Act Too Players will provide a snack and drink during the morning. Lunch will be each day around noon (provided by student). During the lunch hour we will show your child movies that are related to the course. Act Too Players will also provide materials for the classes.
On Friday, students will meet at the Franklin Theater to prep for their 11:00am showcase to which you can invite all of your family and friends. After the showcase, you will be able to take your child with you. *Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19, showcases will not be taking place at the Franklin Theatre .
Act Too Players enables students to develop the necessary skills needed in musical theatre including dance, voice, acting and performance skills. We will Zoom our way with this unique hands-online environment which provides musical theatre students with the opportunity to hone their skills by learning from teachers with professional experience. Online classes will range from 40mins to 1 ½ hours depending on the class and age level. Some classes will continue for one week and some over several weeks.
